Vivian Lee Pichardo, Psy.D. (PSY 33860) is a Chinese American clinician who provides depth therapy to adolescents, adults, and couples. She brings with her more than 10 years of counseling experience in the mental health field, and boundless curiosity in the human condition.

Clinical Approach

Dr. Lee Pichardo’s work is primarily based on psychoanalytic theories with a focus on relational dynamics and multicultural perspectives. Simply put, she believes that lasting changes occur through profound self-understanding and awareness that can be achieved by talking and thinking together to gain insights and meanings. In her therapeutic work, her priority is to provide a safe environment where a strong, trusting relationship can be built. Dr. Lee Pichardo is skilled at helping her patients process the thoughts and feelings that emerge in order to develop a deeper understanding of their past traumas, inner conflicts, and destructive patterns. These newfound insights will then guide them to make changes in their current relationships and life situations. In addition, her practice is grounded by her bicultural experience of being raised in a traditional Chinese family in a different country, and as an immigrant to the U.S. at a young age. She is sensitive to struggles with immigration and acculturation, as well as cultural and generational differences and trauma. Dr. Lee Pichardo has a warm and supportive presence. Her style is down to earth, direct, and thoughtful.
